MEGALITHOMANIA and SOUL OF EGYPT Presents
BEFORE THE PYRAMIDS
EGYPT QUEST

13th - 27th MARCH 2027

Our journey begins at the epicentre of ancient mystery, the Giza Plateau, where the Great Pyramid rises as an enigma and symbol of lost power. With private access inside the Great Pyramid itself, we step beyond the ordinary tourist trail and into a deeper exploration of Egypt’s earliest civilization.

From Giza, we trace the birth of Egypt’s Old Kingdom visiting Saqqara and Dahshur, witnessing the architectural evolution began by the architectural genius Imhotep that culminated in the Pyramid Age. At the Grand Egyptian Museum, we explore the material legacy of dynastic Egypt while focusing on the formative epoch that shaped pharaonic power.

At Abydos and the Kom el-Qa’ab royal cemetery, we venture further back in time to the tombs of Egypt’s earliest rulers, including that of the legendary Scorpion King, whose mighty deeds inaugurated the dynastic age. We also enjoy private access to the enigmatic Osireion, a structure whose massive stonework evokes a far older tradition and lost technology.

In Luxor, we explore the Temple of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings and experience a private visit to encounter the lioness goddess, Sekhmet, whose aspect of strength and healing has inspired and touched modern visitors to her chapel at Karnak.

Go in Search of the Lost World of Zerzura

Our quest then takes us into Egypt’s Western Desert, on the edge of the Sahara, to try and understand the birth of ancient Egypt as much as 6000-8000 years ago. Following desert trails once used by Old Kingdom pharaohs in pursuit of lost knowledge and sources of dynastic power, we explore the ruins of Mothis, where the oracle of the god Set, Lord of the Oasis, was consulted by great pharaohs in search of Zerzura, the lost world of the pre-desert Sahara. We visit also the Djara Cave, the place of emergence of cosmological ideas, that would help forge the mythological world of ancient Egypt. We will also visit the breathtaking White Desert and Black Desert to see the enigmatic Crystal Mountain and Pyramid Mountain.

With hosts Andrew Collins and Debbie Cartwright

This adventure will be led by two unique individuals: ancient mysteries pioneer Andrew Collins, the modern-day discoverer of Giza’s cave underworld and the first ancient mysteries researcher to explore Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe, and visionary philosopher, writer and academic Debbie Cartwright. Her interpretation of ancient animism and shamanism is changing the way we perceive the rise of civilisation in both ancient Egypt and among the Tas Tepeler peoples of prehistoric Turkey. The tour will include lectures from both Andrew and Debbie on this quest of discovery, which will attempt to determine not only the origins of dynastic Egypt, but also its relationship to the Primaeval Ones responsible for the emergence of human life on the Nile during the age known as ‘zep tepi’, the first time.

Feedback from previous Megalithomania Egypt Tours

"To say we enjoyed the Egypt Origins trip with Megalithomaniacs in 2022 would be an understatement. The tour company, Soul of Egypt Travel, did an outstanding job of making sure we had a seamless and completely orchestrated holiday. Food, accommodations, and travel details were stress free. As far as the hosts and the content; it was all beyond expectation. Our Egyptian guides, and guest speakers, added amazing depth to the experience at every sight we visited. The ‘private’ access was not limited to the Osirion and the Great Pyramid, but included many little add-ons at each location that clearly were excluded from other tour itineraries’ and were largely orchestrated on demand by our guides based on the group preference. Although this was my first visit to Egypt I am very glad to have spent it with a group of people that were so keen and well versed on the content, history, spirituality, and mythology of Egypt that an association like Megalithomanics attracts. I look forward to continuing my exploration of the ancient world on future Megalithomaniac tours." - Mr A. Stacey

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for a wonderful trip. I had high hopes for the tour, and it really did exceed my expectations. The organisation was great from start to finish. The knowledge and insights shared at each of the sites and the talks were really interesting, and made the trip much richer than I could have imagined. So thank you to Soul of Egypt Travel, Megalithomania, and to each of you for the part you played in such a memorable experience." - Nicola D.

"Thanks to Megalithomania for truly epic tour of Egypt and Jordan! The list of highlights is way too long to mention. Suffice to say we got to see more than expected, learned more than expected, and had the pleasure of doing all this in a great travel group of fascinating people. The insights from Hugh, J.J., Jim, Yousef, and the local guides made seeing all these sights for the first time even more exciting. We loved the combination of hotels and the Nile cruise. Getting to walk, climb, and crawl in the Great Pyramid, Bent Pyramid, Osiris Shaft, around the Sphinx, and other areas was amazing. We’re so happy we did the Jordan add-on. So many things to see in Jordan, still, Petra was even more remarkable than we imagined. Hope to see you all on a future trip! - Steve Sadler & Barbara Patrick, USA

"That was the best trip ever! I echo Lariana's hope that we all could get together again sometime. To a person, this was a wonderful, truly compatible and friendly group. The best!" - Aleta and Dave, USA

"Our Megalithomania tour to Egypt and Jordan was everything I wanted it to be and so much more! It was such a special trip shared with a group of like minded souls all interested in searching for the truth about these ancient civilizations. I am an ancient history addict and love to explore alternative theories about the origins of civilization. Hugh Newman, Jim Vieira, Yousef Awyan, and JJ Ainsworth guided and informed our journey every step of the way. It was so special to hear cutting edge theories from experts in the field! I learned a lot and was able to ask many questions, which was so fulfilling! We are definitely booking another Megalithomania tour soon!" - Katy and Jorge Montanez, Mexico/US

"Well what an amazing holiday, still resonating now with me as I'm sure it is with you too. Nobody does it like Megalithomania, thanks to Hugh and Jj, Jim Vieira, the Soul of Egypt team; Amro, Ahmed our wonderful guides; Yousef, Ehab, Adel, we walked betwwen worlds together. Great hotels, opulent dining all in stunning locations and in really good company which meant I may have started that journey alone but it ended with fond farewells to a couple of dozen or so new friends, thanks for putting up with me!
